Historic Stovall - George- Woodward home located in the heart of Vienna's Historic District
~Vienna is a Certified Community of Ethics, A Better Hometown Community and City of Excellence~
The City of Vienna is conveniently located in South Central Georgia along Interstate 75 and U.S. Highway 41. Incorporated in 1841, Vienna serves as the county seat for Dooly County. Vienna was selected and surveyed from the beginning to be the county seat, so the streets were laid out with much care and precision. A large square was laid off the courthouse and the streets were made perfectly straight and parallel, the cross streets were made the same way at right angles. The Dooly County Courthouse lies in the heart of downtown Vienna. Built in 1891 of Georgia granite, slate, and brick, this stately structure was recently restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
